Eko — Privacy Policy
Effective 9 August 2026
Eko is a puzzle game for iPhone. This policy explains what data is handled when you play it, by whom, and what choices you have. The short version: Eko itself collects nothing, and the only third party involved is Google, which serves the ads.
What Eko itself collects
Nothing. Eko has no accounts, no analytics, and no server of its own. Your puzzle progress, earned lights, and settings (sound, haptics) are stored only on your device and are never transmitted anywhere. Deleting the app deletes them. The "Remove Ads" purchase is remembered by Apple against your Apple Account so it can be restored, but Eko receives no personal details from that — see Purchases below.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
Eko shows a small number of ads: occasional interstitial ads between levels, and optional rewarded ads that play only when you ask for a hint or a level skip. Ads are provided by Google AdMob, a third-party service. To serve ads and measure that they were shown, Google may collect:
- Device information (model, operating system, language)
- IP address, from which an approximate (city-level) location may be inferred
- Ad interaction data (which ads were shown, viewed, or tapped)
- Device identifiers — including the advertising identifier (IDFA) only if you allow tracking when iOS asks
- Diagnostic information about ad delivery
If you do not allow tracking, or do not consent where consent is required, Google serves non-personalised ads instead. You see the same number of ads either way. Google acts under its own privacy policy:
Your choices
- Tracking (all regions): iOS asks for permission before Eko's ads can use the advertising identifier. You can change your answer at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Denying it never limits the game.
- Consent (EEA and UK): before the first ad, Google's consent form lets you choose how your data is used. You can review or withdraw that consent at any time via Settings → Ad Privacy Choices inside the game.
- Remove Ads: a one-time purchase in the game's Settings removes interstitial ads entirely. Rewarded ads remain available for hints and skips, and only ever play when you request one.
Purchases
The Remove Ads purchase is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. Eko never sees your payment details, billing address, or Apple Account information — it learns only that the purchase exists, so it can stop showing interstitial ads. Apple's handling of that transaction is described in Apple's Privacy Policy.
Children
Eko is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Where consent or tracking prompts apply, ads for users who decline are non-personalised.
Data retention and your rights
Because Eko operates no servers and collects no personal data itself, there is nothing we hold to access, correct, or delete — everything the game stores lives on your device under your control. Data handled by Google in the course of serving ads is subject to Google's retention practices and the rights described in its privacy policy, and to the consent choices above. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA) you may have rights to access, delete, or object to processing of personal data; for ad data those requests are honoured through the tracking and consent controls described under "Your choices". If you have any question or request about your data, contact us and we will help.
Changes to this policy
If Eko's data practices ever change — for example, if a future update adds a new service — this policy will be updated and the effective date above revised before the change ships.
